Ms. Jamilah Fraser brings more than 20 years of communications experience to the field of Communications and Public Relations. She began her career in local television stations in South Carolina and Missouri, earning two local Emmy’s for her collaborative efforts in broadcasting. In 2005, Jamilah answered the call after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast and joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In 2011, she was named one of the youngest heads of communications for The School District of Philadelphia. Her career continued to gain momentum when Fraser was recruited then appointed as the Chief Information Officer for Fresno Unified School District in Fresno, California. Her work in Fresno helped her to receive national acclaim in her field so much so, that she became the recipient of the coveted Network Journal’s 40 under 40 award. In 2013, Fraser was tapped to become the Assistant Vice President of Communications and Marketing for one of the largest senior colleges in the City of University of New York college system.
Ms. Shana Kemp is a Managing Partner of Greene Street Communications, LLC where she helps lead the organization’s marketing and strategic communications efforts. Before this, she served as Executive Director for Strategic Communications at the City University of New York at Medgar Evers College. With close to 20 years in communications, she has worked in both broadcast news and public relations. She began her foray into public relations in 2006 after discovering how dire the need was to properly tell the story about the crisis in public education. She served at the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) where she helped raise the organization’s national profile through an aggressive, strategic outreach approach. In 2010, she served as Deputy Chief of Media Relations for The School District of Philadelphia where she earned honors for her social media efforts.
She has a B.A. in English from the University of South Carolina.
